Android Application Type

Foreground Activity

Applications will only be viable if it appears on the screen and remain effective even if not visible. Applications with this type of activity certainly consider the life cycle, so that switching between activity can take place smoothly.

Background Service

Applications that have limited interaction with the user, apart from setting the configuration, notall of the process does not appear on the screen.An example application screening calls or sms auto response.

Intermittent Activity

Applications thatstillrequiresomeuser input, but mostare veryeffectiveifruninthe backgroundandifneededwill notifythe userabouta particularcondition. Music playerfor example.  

For complex applications that would be difficult to determine the categories of applications especially applications have characteristics of all categories. Therefore need to be consideration of how the application is used and determine the appropriate application category
